John Leech MP praises work of foster carers

John Leech MP is working to ensure foster carers get the credit they deserve.

Manchester Liberal Democrat MP John Leech has praised the work of thousands of foster carers by lending his support to the Fostering Network's Foster Care Fortnight.

Foster Care Fortnight, which runs between 14th and 27th May 2007, aims to celebrate the work of some 32,000 foster carers across England, whose excellent and invaluable work often goes on unrecognised by the public.

'Foster carers help the most vulnerable young people in our society but often receive little or not credit for their work,' John Leech MP said.

'Foster Care Fortnight puts foster carers rightfully in the limelight, sharing their experiences and thanking them for their hard and irreplaceable work," John Leech continued. "There is a massive shortage of foster carers in Britain and events such as Foster Care Fortnight are essential for recruit
