John Leech faced some tough questions from the students at Manchester High
Manchester MP John Leech has faced some tough questions from pupils at Manchester High School for Girls about his career as a politician.
Chorlton teenager, Saffiya Haddad invited her local MP along so that she and her fellow pupils could learn about what it takes to have a job in the world of politics. The girls posed plenty of challenging questions on a wide range of issues.
John made it clear that the job was not for the faint-hearted. A ninety-hour working week involving casework, meetings and campaigning combined with the possibility of losing your job every four or five years wouldn't appeal to many!
"This is the sort of engagement that I will always try to undertake," John Leech said during the talk. "Because too often, people make the mistake of thinking all young people are apathetic. This is certainly not the case at Manchester High School and politicians should find the time to listen regularly to the views of young people."
