Breast Cancer Campaign's Wear It Pink Campaign raises vital funds for research in to breast cancer

Manchester MP, John Leech, is proving he is serious about breast cancer once again today, [Friday], as he participates in the Breast Cancer Campaign's 'Wear It Pink' campaign day.

'It is so simple to support the Breast Cancer Campaign in their latest campaign,' John Leech MP said, 'Wearing an item of pink to work or to school and donating £2 will raise money and promote awareness of the disease.'

This is the latest action from John Leech MP on the issue of breast cancer.

Recently, John was one of a group of influential MPs who joined experts from Breast Cancer Campaign to quiz health minister, Rosie Winterton, on the poor rates of breast screening across the UK.

'South Manchester has some of the worst breast screening rates in the country. I ran a petition to ask for local people's support in lobbying for an improvement to breast screening facilities. It is imperative that if we are going to combat this disease, preventative methods are taken more seriously.

'I welcome the opening of the new Nightingale Centre at Wythenshawe Hospital which will become a specialist centre in the fight against breast cancer.'

John Leech MP also chose Breast Cancer Campaign as his charity when he participated in the Great Manchester Run, earlier this year.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
