Henshaws works to raise awareness of the difficulties visually impaired people face in their daily lives

Henshaws Society for Blind People invited Manchester MP John Leech to participate in their Visual Impairment Awareness Training program.

The training day focussed on the problems facing people with visual impairment, teaching participants how best to support a visually impaired person. John Leech MP was also blindfolded and led by another participant, Chorlton Park councillor Norman Lewis.

'Taking part in training such as this highlights the day to day difficulties visually impaired people face and how vulnerable they can be,' John Leech MP said, 'But it also shows what excellent support local charity Henshaws give to people in the north west.'

John Leech MP has previously supported the charity by visiting Henshaws' summer play scheme on Cavendish Road where he met many of the young children that Henshaws support.
