This morning, John Leech MP surprised the winner of his Christmas card competition by turning her up to her school assembly with her prize - a bike.

Maia McAdam, ten years old and at Chorlton C of E Primary School, was chosen from hundreds of children from primary schools in the area as the winner of John Leech MP's annual Christmas card.

John Leech MP stated:

'It was incredibly difficult to choose just one winner, but Maia's design stood out because it is so bright and colourful.

It has a cheery Christmas message which will appeal to everyone who lives in South Manchester.'

Maia was presented with her bike and a framed certificate in assembly on Friday morning. Chorlton C of E Primary School, as the winning school, also received a £400 voucher for football kits and equipment.
