Local Liberal Democrat MP John Leech is celebrating today after GMPTE bosses agreed to hold a road show in Chorlton to answer questions about the Greater Manchester congestion charge.
Designed as a way for the public to express their opinions on the matter, plans for the event come after a direct request by John Leech. Concerned that people had no platform to have their say on the issue, he is delighted that his constituents will now have such an opportunity.
John, a Transport Spokesperson for the Liberal Democrats has called for a referendum on the congestion charge alongside his party colleagues ever since the proposals were announced. Speaking about the news that the road show is coming to the area, he said it was an 'excellent way to determine public opinion and for GMPTE to answer any questions the residents of Chorlton might have.'
Held on Friday 29th August at Chorlton Park Infant School, it will take place all day from 11am until 7pm. With everybody invited to attend, it is a great way for your views to be heard by the GMPTE representatives.
