Leech introduces bill supporting carer's rights

August 3, 2009 11:40 AM

John Leech, MP for Withington, recently tabled a Parliamentary motion calling for the Government to show support for the non next of kin carers.

The local Manchester MP has demanded that the Government address this issue and propose legislation that will lead to improvements to the lives of the sick and their carers.

John Leech said:

"Carers play an exceptionally important role in the lives of their partners. They face extremely challenging situations every day. It's essential that the Government gives them the support they deserve.

Not only is this an issue that affects the carers, but also the sick people they look after. Can we really deny quality care to the oldest and most vulnerable members of our society?"
