The leader of the Lib Dems Nick Clegg, along with John Leech MP, Cllr. Paul Ankers, Victor Chamberlain and Hannah Roberts (Chairman of Chorlton Lib Dems) talking to a shopkeeper in Chorlton

Chorlton Lib Dems, John Leech MP and Cllr Paul Ankers are launching a ward-wide survey to ask local residents how they would like to see Chorlton district centre developed.

The survey comes after Manchester City Council, having pledged to re-develop the precinct in the centre of Chorlton this summer, postponed their consultation until autumn. Now John Leech and Cllr Ankers are launching the survey, which will be sent to every household in Chorlton.. This will give everyone in the area the chance to make their opinions count.

Cllr Ankers said:

"The consultation is vital to Chorlton's redevelopment. The Council should stop ignoring local residents. It is time to let Chorlton people shape Chorlton's future."

Ends.

If you are a resident of the Manchester, Withington constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
