John Leech with Lord Renard

During the election period, John Leech will continue to provide advice surgeries to Manchester Withington residents who would like advice or help, up until the 6th May General Election.

John Leech said:

"I'm keen to continue to provide the same advice service throughout the time that Parliament is not in session - just because an election has been called and I'm not an MP, it doesn't mean people's problems can be put on hold."

"My staff have agreed to continue working on urgent casework as normal and will endeavour to provide the same service that constituents have become used to."

Notes to Editors

John Leech's full advice surgery schedule for the coming weeks is as follows:

16th April 1530 - 1630 Chorlton Library

17th April 1100 - 1200 Chorlton Methodist Church

23rd April 1530 - 1630 Burnage Community Centre

Advice surgeries will not take place in the week immediately preceding the 6th May General Election.

As an election has been called and Parliament has been dissolved, John Leech ceases to be a Member of Parliament and is unable to provide advice and support to constituents in his former capacity. However, he will carry on providing the service and to work on ongoing cases, at his own expense.

If you are a resident of the Manchester, Withington constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
